With the paradigm shift in healthcare under way, what other benefits can providers and patients reap from new technologies? First, technology tools can allow physicians and patients to connect so that the system and care are less fragmented. Second, with improvements in laptop technology and software applications and other innovations, patients and providers can “teleport”, thereby providing greater access to information and care. Third, the increased use in technology will encourage emphasis on wellness and preventive care as opposed to treating sickness.
