Healthcare executive with over 15 years’ experience in leadership roles as Chief Physician Executive Officer for Dartmouth Hitchcock Health ACO, Physician-in-Chief, Chief Medical Officer, Physician Quality Officer and Regional Chief with large regional health systems and academic medical centers in New England.

Working in close collaboration with clinical and administrative leadership, as the Chief Officer for the ACO, she currently oversees the operations of the Accountable Care Organization and various facets of Population Health at Dartmouth Hitchcock Health System. She is leading the Network integration, performance measures and operational plans for Dartmouth Health’s Affiliate hospitals and has direct oversight over implementation strategies to succeed under the newer value-based reimbursement models. Dr. Viswanathan also has oversight over medical management of Employee wellness and is leading several initiatives in close collaboration with the clinical Integrated Delivery System as well as various community partners.

Prior to her role at Dartmouth Hitchcock, Dr. Viswanathan was at a regional non-profit health system, Southcoast Health, as their Chief Medical Officer and Physician-in-Chief. She led key initiatives such as clinical integration of their Physician Group, the Network and their Accountable Care Organization.

Additionally, she has held several esteemed positions including:
  • Vice-Chair of Massachusetts Hospital Association’s (MHA)Physician-Hospital Integration Collaborative (PHIC)division
  • Physician Quality Officer at UMass Memorial Health Center (a large academic medical center)
  • Senior Medical Director at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Network Health
  • Physician lead for Massachusetts Patient Centered Medical Home Steering Committee
  • Most recently as the Chief Clinical Investment Officer for Massachusetts Health Policy Commission’s $8 million grant to “reduce ED visits and Inpatient hospitalizations by 20% over two years”.
Dr. Viswanathan completed her Residency at Boston University Residency Program, has earned a Master of Health Care Management degree from Harvard University and an MBA from University of Massachusetts.
