What is TiE 20?
TiE 20 are an elite group of Top 20 Early Stage Startups recognized and awarded from among hundreds of nominees at the annual TiEcon Midwest – one of the largest entrepreneurship focused conferences in the region attracting successful Entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors and Industry Executives.
This year’s TiE 20 will be selected from four industry segments – Internet, Software, Mobile and Media. |

TiECon Midwest has been a sold out success since 2008 in Detroit. This year’s TiECon Midwest is being held on Oct 28-29, 2010 at "The Henry", Dearborn.
Selection process
We introduced TiE20 last year to great success that gave increased visibility and connectivity to our winners. TiE20 are Top Early Stage Startups picked from a qualified pool of hundreds of startup nominees by a combination of evaluations, screenings and judging by successful Entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, Domain Experts and Public Polling. The applied parameters include Business Model, Technology / IP, Market Viability and Management Team. Startups should be in the business not more than three years, boot strapped or raised capital not exceeding $1M and are actively engaged in taking the companies to the next level.
Last date for Nominations is Oct 3rd 2010.
The Benefits
TiE 20 winners will be honored with awards of excellence in front of hundreds of Entrepreneurs, VCs, Angels, Industry Experts and Professionals at TiECon Midwest 2010. They will also get to be present their companies to the conference attendees. TiE 20 winners will get special invitations to Extreme Power Connect premium networking sessions at TiECon and will also be part of ongoing recognition from TiE Detroit throughout the year. More importantly, they will get access to TiE’s powerful global entrepreneurial ecosystem that is dedicated to fostering and enhancing entrepreneurship.
What are the requirements? Are there any fees?
There are no fees involved in this program. All we require is the presence of company's CEO or Founder to receive the Award and present the company. As an additional benefit, TiE 20 presenters will attend TiECon Midwest 2010 conference on a complimentary basis. |
