Venktesh Shukla, also known as Venk is the General Partner at Monta Vista Capital. As President of TiE Silicon Valley and Chair of TiE Global, he has had transformational impact on the organization in Silicon Valley as well as at TiE Global. As the founding President of Foundation for Excellence for the first 17 years of its 20 years existence, set the stage for its current success in providing scholarship to thousands of talented but poor students pursuing engineering and medical education in India.
Mr. Shukla served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Nusym Technology, Inc and as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development of Magma Design Automation Inc. He was Co-founder of Everypath, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer from April 1999 to January 2002. He served as Vice President of Marketing at Ambit Design Systems where he was the key architect of Ambit’s successful entry into the logic synthesis market.
Prior to Ambit, Mr. Shukla served as Vice President of Marketing of Systems & Networks, Inc. He was at Cadence Design Systems Inc.where he served as Vice President of Marketing, Director of Product Marketing, and Strategic Marketing Manager. He worked as a Senior Marketing Executive in large technology companies in Silicon Valley and has been involved with numerous early stage companies as an Executive, Investor, Board Member, or Advisor. He started his career in Civil Service where he was an under-secretary within the Indian federal government and was later promoted as Deputy Commissioner. He was also the Founding Chair and active member of TiE Angels.
He serves as a Member of Board of Trustees at Good Samaritan Hospital and President and Member of the Board and Trustee at Foundation For Excellence. Shukla has been involved with numerous start ups as an executive, investor, board member and advisor.Mr. Shukla has had a long and varied career that includes sales, marketing, and general management experience, and a proven track record of leading companies through rapid growth. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.Eng in Electronics Engineering from MA National Institute of Technology, Bhopal.
