Tim Purves is a problem solver who enjoys applying his analytical skills to solve challenging business and technical issues. Tim launched his IT career as a software entrepreneur during a pivotal time when computers were finding their way to mainstream audiences. During those days, Tim applied his problem solving skills to develop and market more than 80 commercial software products that were distributed in retail markets worldwide.
In 1993, Tim transitioned into the healthcare field where his extensive knowledge of information systems was applied to the evolving field of patient care. Initially taking the role of Application Development Director and later moving to the role of Chief Technology Officer at Henry Ford Health System, Tim oversaw the development of electronic medical record systems used to track and manage a population of more than one million patients. The quality of the systems delivered by Tim and his team were recognized by Smithsonian in 1999 with the award for "Best Use of Computers in Health Care"
His career in healthcare further evolved in 2010 when Tim took on the role of System Director of infrastructure at Beaumont Health System – the largest health provider system in Michigan. In this role, Tim provides strategic leadership and management to execute the consolidation, standardization, and optimization of infrastructure operations. The trend for systems excellence continued at Beaumont as Tim and his team were recognized as "Most Wired" and "Information Week Elite Innovators" in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015.
As an individual, Tim brings more than 34 years of expertise in information technology management, innovation, consulting and outsourcing. He is one of those rare people who can successfully apply entrepreneurial skills to address challenges in the corporate enterprise.
