Ravi Nabar, Ph.D., MBA, B.E. (Hons) Mech.,
Ravi Nabar joined Baxter Healthcare in August 2016; previously he was with Philips, and had primary responsibility for Supplier Quality Assurance globally across Philips. Ravi works closely with Quality, Operations and Procurement executive leadership and suppliers to improve the quality, compliance, processes and systems that support procurement, manufacturing and delivery of medical devices, components, software, and services through winning value chains and a global supply chain.

Ravi has experience and a special interest in the development of digital health data platforms and mobile medical applications, and has worked to qualify suppliers of software and services (XaaX) from a medical device, mobile medical application and software perspective. Recently, he participated in an industry panel to discuss emerging trends and the impact of technology in a digital health forum on “Uberization of Healthcare”. Ravi has deep domain expertise on FDA regulatory requirements for software, mobile medical devices and applications, and their implementation in a cloud based environment. Ravi has worked on the Case for Quality to improve the quality of medical devices and software in the healthcare industry with associations including Advamed and MDIC.

Ravi has 20+ years of experience in building and managing quality management systems, audits and product safety engineering in electronics and equipment manufacturing, with 12 years in medical devices and diagnostics. Ravi previously held management positions in Quality at GE Healthcare, Supplier Quality at Philips, and Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs at Kodak Health Group.

Ravi represents Baxter Healthcare’s supplier quality initiatives, and has been working with counterparts in the medical device industry to establish the foundational framework for an industry managed supply chain oversight program to accredit the supply chain in collaboration with the Performance Review Institute (PRI) on “MedAccred” since 2012. He represents Baxter at Advamed on the Case for Quality on identifying best practices in supplier quality, design controls and metrics.

Ravi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters’ degrees in Business Administration, a doctorate in Public Health (University of Michigan). He lives in the Boston area and enjoys history, music and the environment.
