Mark is a Principal in Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Services practice and serves as the National Lead for the Life Sciences & Health Care industry. In this role, Mark has consulted with more than 60 health care organizations incorporating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)/Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) rules, implementing new electronic medical records and/or applying for meaningful-use certification. Before taking on the health care leadership role, Mark established Deloitte’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) practice, and leading the service line for approximately 10 years. The IAM practice is recognized as the largest IAM consulting practice in the world. With more than 20 years of experience in health care consulting, Mark has worked with clients from all of the major sectors, including life sciences, health plans and health care providers. While he specializes in the health care industry, Mark has provided counsel to the public sector, automotive, banking, insurance and retail. His breadth of industry knowledge allows him to bring a wealth of experience to his health care clients.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Mark was a Senior Manager at a management consulting firm. He also worked as an Information Security Consultant at one of the nation’s largest independent software corporations. Mark started his career as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in geology and a minor in military science from Western Kentucky University. Mark is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Mark has been with Deloitte for over 15 years. Outside of the office, Mark enjoys golf, scuba diving and all kinds of music, including country, classic rock and jazz. He currently calls Michigan home.
