Kishor Bagul is serial entrepreneur and technologist with more than 20 years of experience in creating, leading and advising organizations in both the public and private sector. Currently Mr. Bagul is CEO of Cloud & Things, a consulting firm focused on Internet of Things solutions for Smart Cities, Industrial Wearables and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Mr. Bagul has invested in multiple start-ups and also serves as an advisory board member. In addition, Mr. Bagul is key member of Schenectady Smart City Advisory Commission, as well as serves as an entrepreneur in residence for Siena College in New York.
Previously, Mr. Bagul served as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the State of New York, where he was part of executive team to lead IT budget of $1 billion, and staff more than 4300 and helped to transform one of the most complex government in the US. As a CTO he chaired the Technology Governance Board on matters pertaining to New York’s enterprise architecture, technology standardization, and innovation management. Mr. Bagul successfully led various statewide projects, including the launch of New York’s open data portal, web presence transformation and citizen experience, mobility strategies for government applications, cloud platforms implementation and big data initiatives. Mr. Bagul produced state’s first developer conference attended by CEOs, entrepreneurs, academia, industry experts and government employees to collaborate, learn and explore innovative technologies for civic good.
Prior to joining the State of New York, Mr. Bagul served as business and technology executive at several firms located in US, Australia and India, leading the development of technology product and services roadmaps, and the successful implementation of those plans. Mr. Bagul started his career as a R&D Engineer developing telecommunication and early voice response systems. Mr. Bagul has advance training in Business and Technology Transformation, Enterprise Architecture and Innovation Management, Cloud and IoT Technologies, Strategic Planning and General Management and holds degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Gujarat University, India.
