R.J. King joined Hour Media LLC in spring 2006 as editor of DBusiness Magazine, a business enthusiast publication covering southeastern Michigan. The magazine, first published in September 2006, covers metro Detroit companies that are growing here, nationally, and internationally. It also examines growth opportunities within various business sectors, and offers engaging profiles of business leaders. Past profiles include Dick Dauch, Tom LaSorda, Bobby Taubman, Roger Penske, Edsel Ford, Linda Dresner, and others.
Prior to joining DBusiness, Mr. King was a business writer for the Detroit News for 16 years. There he covered economic development, automotive, health care, technology, and numerous other industries. For the Detroit News, Mr. King published more than 4,000 articles since 1990. Mr. King is a member of the Detroit Athletic Club, a licensed real estate agent, a board member of Beyond Basics, a board member of Just For Kids, a board member of Detroit Air Racing, a member of the Board of Trustees for The Parade Co., a member of the Detroit Medical Center Guild, a member of the Brother Rice Business Alliance, and a member of the Boston-Edison Historic District Association in Detroit.
