Hirsch is a recent Michigan transplant from St. Louis, Missouri where he grew up and graduated college from with a Bachelors’ in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to that Hirsch studied Economics and Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans. An Executive Board member of the largest community service organization in New Orleans (C.A.C.T.U.S.), Hirsch has long pursued an interest in community and economic development.

Following Hurricane Katrina Hirsch began in earnest his pursuit of creating long-term economic value through policy.  While in New Orleans Hirsch was a Congressional Intern for Rep. Bobby Jindal and Tulane University grant-awardee investigating the potential financial externalities in the New Orleans marketplace resulting from Hurricane Katrina.  Since moving to Michigan, Hirsch has pursued his interests while interning for Congressman Pete Hoesktra and working in the private sector for a healthcare technology firm.

The capstone of his work so far has been the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Entrepreneurism in one of the hardest-hit states of Michigan through local chapter of T.I.E. Hirsch is doubly excited for TiECon 2010 as it combines his interests and passions of creating economic value, promoting business and community development, and giving entrepreneurs the tools they need to succeed.
